Wide Area Connectivity For Critical Infrastructure Industries and Homeland Security:
Full Spectrum designs and builds broadband wireless equipment for mission critical industries including the electric utility and natural gas industries as well as key agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Mission critical industries and DHS agencies have communications needs that are substantially different from other enterprises. These entities are responsible for managing and protecting assets (both infrastructure and human) that are dispersed over very wide geographies. Existing communication solutions fail to meet the evolving fixed and mobile data needs of mission critical industries including the requisite wide area coverage, security, high data rates and uninterrupted network availability.

In May 2006, Full Spectrum began development of its FullMAX mobile broadband wireless data solution specifically designed to meet the remote data needs of mission critical industries. The FullMAX platform is based on an enhanced and extended version of the Mobile WiMAX (802.16e) standard: the most advanced, all IP, mobile broadband data standard.

Full Spectrum chose the Mobile WiMAX standard as its base platform for a variety of reasons including: 1) superior RF performance and spectral efficiency, 2) support by key chipset and communications suppliers (including Intel, Cisco, Nokia and Samsung), 3) support from international standards bodies including the ITU and 4) its fundamental design as a truly open standard enabling innovation.

In order to enhance its coverage capabilities, FullMAX radios have been designed to support non-standard licensed frequencies ranging from as low as 4
0 MHz up to 958 MHz. These licensed frequencies as well as their allowable power levels enable coverage up to 200 times that of consumer based WiMAX products. Full Spectrum has formed strategic partnerships with nationwide licensed spectrum holders in the lower frequency bands and can offer the utility a turnkey mobile broadband data solution including private licensed frequencies for operation with the FullMAX platform.

FullMAX products will be available for trial in Q4 2008
with general commercial availability in Q1 2009. To learn more, visit our market and applications page and products page or feel free to contact us directly at inquiries@fullspectrumnet.com.

Full Spectrum's FullMAX broadband wireless technology is critical to the implementation of the electric utility "smart grid". The "smart grid" calls for deploying two-way industrial sensor technology throughout all parts of the electric utility grid. Real time management of the power grid offers the ability to generate electricity in the most efficient manner minimizing the depletion of natural resources and CO2 emissions.
